Should a senior require assistance in making lifestyle modifications due to chronic pain, limited mobility, or other age-related or medical condition, Comfort Keepers home health providers can help. From local transportation, physical and emotional support and meal preparation to medication management and companionship, caregivers often make the difference between making healthy changes or sticking with the status quo.
Regardless of their risk factors, if a senior experiences any of the most common signs of a serious heart condition, they should contact 911 and seek medical attention right away. These signs include pain, pressure, heaviness, discomfort, or fullness in their chest; nausea and vomiting; a sudden cold sweat; pain that goes down the left arm, shoulder, jaw, or back. When these symptoms present themselves, every second counts, so knowing what to look for could save a life.
This American Heart Month, share the risks, preventative measures, and warning signs of heart disease. By doing so, seniors and their family members can improve their own heart health as well as the heart health of the people they know and love. If you feel your senior loved one would benefit from home health care, then contact Comfort Keepers for a care consultation.
